Meathooks

You know what interested me the most in class on Thursday? It was the fact that some people in this world thought of women as cattle. I will be honest; the feminist in me was totally insulted and outright enraged that people would think in such a way. But at the same time, it’s understandable such things can be viewed in such a manner. For centuries it was thought that women were property. Some families used their daughters as pawns for negotiation in order to get money or some sort of treaties to be signed off. While other families… well… It’s hard to say that the women were well off or not, since at the moment I lack the correct sources at hand.

Anyway, back to the topic. I tend to ramble off a lot when I do these blogs and I can’t help it at times. Within Mosley’s book,( the page I can’t remember at the moment and might edit this post just to enter it in), it was mentioned that the women were placed up on meat hooks, preserved in that cold locker like room. It was almost as though they were trophies being presented in such a manner. Really makes me think, in a high moral thought process mind you, on what sort of sick, perverted person would do such a thing? Could if no one knew the whole story and just say an image of that one scene, there could be multiple reasons as to why. Be it that’s how they presented women in a morgue. Or maybe they’re just fake dolls. It can’t be real, after all. Well, till you smack on the fact the women were white. Then you get an outrage spreading from coast to coast. But the women here were African American. So why not doubt it? I bet you 3 out of 5 people wouldn’t make a huge issue on that fact. Well... maybe they would. I’m not that certain, but I’ll keep the stakes up high, just for the hell of it.
